So it sure looks like there may be enough of us on the Wet coastish area to have an OLF shindig.

the only problem is now all we will be getting till summer next year is rain .

Anyone have any interest in hosting somethin like this, maybe someone in the Seatle area or even more south and who would be interest in coming.

What do you think?

Oh and it would be really cool if we could get Doug Kliest to come. Anyone know how he is doing? I send an email a while ago with no response.Rod True38974.7875925926

Hey Rod, I will host it! Bring tents and bear sray though!! Actually I think I am a bit 'out of the way'.

Anyway, I emailed Doug the other day and he and Patti are doing fine. He has another hobby on the go that is keeping he and Patti pretty busy but he is also still selling wood on a regular basis.

Once you have the details about the get together, I will see if I can swing it. I might be off to Bellingham in November to check out a wide belt sander....

Hummmm, that sounds like a trip to Grizzly tools to me, that's a great store.

Thanks for the update on the Kliest's, glad they're doing better.

Down here in Portland OR you can't throw a cat without hitting a luthier...(it's
just an expression!! I LIKE cats...)
Anyway, what does "hosting" mean?

I vote for Shane's place. I really want to see his setup first hand and maybe even help him cut up some wood or something.

Hey, I would definitely be into that if I can work it into a very busy fall holiday season. Maybe spring would work better.

Rod, for you guys from Canada, wouldn't that be the Pacific Southwest? <bg>

If I'm living back in Oly, I'm in! Heck, even if I'm not! But snow will hit Montana soon, so spring would be better. In MT spring = June!

I will hopefully be at Kaufman's camp in TN in June. I think the third week...

We'll figure something out, lets keep it in the back of our minds, maybe for early summer or something.

I too would be up for something like this time & distance permitting.

Sounds great to me.

Rod, just remember Grizzly up here is only open Monday - Friday unless they are having a special sale.

I vote for Shane's place too - I would Love to see his setup as well!!!
Just let me know where it ends up and Im in.
I conferred with the wife, who OK'ed it so
>we have a huge yard for camping, right on the ocean, and we could potentially host as well.
Cheers
Charliewood.
Oh yeah - I guess I should state where we are - D'oh - Vancouver Island BC Canada - we are 15 minutes from the begining of the Westcoast Trail Park System, 5 Provincial Park beaches and 45 minutes from the head of the Westcoast Trail. No hotels - but plenty of BnB's campgrounds and Inn's in the area.charliewood38975.6942013889
